Iberia's pilots will strike again on February 24 and 29 and the airline expects a total number of 238 flights to be cancelled. Yesterday 153 flights didn't take off, during the 10th day of Iberia's pilots walk out over the creation of the low-cost airline Iberia Express, but hardships have been minor. The next two strikes have been called by Sepla (pilots union), Stavla (on-board staff union), and Cta and Cnt (ground staff minority unions).
21 flights cancelled yesterday were destined to Barcelona while three to São Paulo, Bogotà and New York. The Spanish infrastructure ministry intervened by setting minimum guaranteed services: confirmation of 50% of national flights over five hours, of 25% of national flights under 5 hours, of 50% of international flights under 6 hours and of all links between Iberian peninsula and Canaries and Balearics.
